Multimodal Interactive Discourse Analysis of Standardized Patients
From the perspectives of social semiotic and conceptual metaphor,this paper examines the multimodal characteristics of standardized patients'interaction discourse.Firstly,it reveals that standardized patients'interaction discourse shows four main modes:pure language,paralanguage,body language and non body language.Secondly,standardized patients'interaction discourse accomplishes information transmission and emotional expression through three kinds of multimodal collaborative relationships:supplement,reinforcement and replacement.Thirdly,standardized patients'interaction discourse presents the multimodal metaphor of"patients are the best teachers of doctors"through similarity representation and dynamic expression.Finally,as the main body of educational drama activities,standardized patients use multimodal interactive discourse to carry out and connect situational activities,narrative activities,poetic activities,and finally achieve the teaching goal.
