Study on the River Underwater Sand Pit Tracking and the Impact on the Safety of Embankments
The sand pits formed by unapproved river sand mining can have serious impacts on the safety of river bank slopes and even embankments. For river management,it is often difficult to track their location and scale form of underwater sand pits due to their concealment, and thus it is impossible to assess their impact on the safety of embankment and bank slope. In order to study the tracking technology of underwater sand pits in river channelsand their influence on the stability of embankments, combined with the project,side-scan sonar,GPS-RTK,underwater bathymetry technology and Autobank analysis software are used to locate the underwater sand pits and measure the scale form of the sand pits, and to conduct seepage stability and anti-slip stability of embankments and bank slopes. Then the impact of underwater sand pits on the safety of embankments and bank slopes is evaluated.
