Faced with the unprecedented changes over the past century,China's foreign language education planning should not only respond promptly to the new situation of language evolution,but also take up the new challenges posed by hybridity in the era of globalization,so as to provide optimal solutions to the actual issues of foreign language education in China.As one of the most applicable theories in applied linguistics,translanguaging provides fresh perspectives on language,knowledge and teaching for foreign language education planning.Drawing on the theory of foreign language education planning,this paper examines major issues of foreign language education planning in China from the perspective of translanguaging.Then it proposes multidimensional and interactive optimalization approaches to foreign language education planning that integrate the foreign language resources system,knowledge system and teaching system,hoping to promote the profound development of research on foreign language education planning in China.
