Online collaborative writing stands at the forefront in international L2 writing research,but it has not yet attracted due attention from Chinese domestic scholars.This paper employs CiteSpace to conduct a visual analysis of the hotspots and trends in international L2 online collaborative writing research from 2010 to 2023.The results identify pivotal topics encompassing the development of online collaborative writing platforms,interactive behaviors and patterns in collaborative writing processes,effectiveness of online collaborative writing,and learner beliefs associated with the writing practice.Research methodologies mainly include case studies,conversation analysis and quasi-experimental studies,with a notable prevalence of qualitative research approaches.The paper concludes with insights into the anticipated future directions of L2 online collaborative writing research.
