Based on the concept of learning communities, this study constructs a blended learning community for English linguistic theory courses, mainly composed of before-class online learning,in-class learning promotion and discussion, and extended after-class practice. In a case study of the"English pragmatics"course, community members focus on hot pragmatics topics in interdisciplinary fields, and carry out collaborative learning oriented towards practical problems and driven by multimodal corpora in Chinese socio-cultural contexts, thus completing online and offline cross-cultural pragmatic activities in an efficient way.As a result, learners in the blended learning community achieve the goal of pragmatic knowledge acquisition, construction and transfer. The study might provide some reference for the blended teaching ecology reform of English linguistic theory courses.
