After clarifying the concepts of translation for language teaching,translation training,translation and interpreting teaching,and translator and interpreter education,this paper discusses the philosophy of translator and interpreter education in the new era,and revises China's Translator and Interpreter Education Research Framework.The new framework considers translator and interpreter education research as having both theoretical and practical aspects.The former includes studies on educational theory,history,and research methodology,while the latter includes studies on teaching,learning,and assessment of translator and interpreter education,thus broadening the visions and fields of translator and interpreter education research.
