Developing foreign language talent for area studies:Model design and optimization methods
In recent years,China has transformed from a participant to a leader in global governance.This has created an increasing demand for highly competent foreign language talent specializing in area studies.The development of the talent has become a pressing issue in academic discussions.However,the current literature focuses on the construction of disciplinary and knowledge systems,with little attention paid to planning for developing foreign language talent.This study proposes a demand model for foreign language talent from the perspective of area studies.Informed by foreign language education planning theories,this study adopted an empirical approach to investigate the status quo of the development of foreign language talent in area studies.It concludes by proposing suggestions for optimizing the developmental trajectories of foreign language talent in China.
