The construction of an educational powerhouse has set new missions and development requirements for higher education.The foreign language education community must follow the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,and implement the guiding principles from the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.It is imperative to precisely comprehend the strategic significance,inherent characteristics,and main tasks involved in building an educational powerhouse,and accurately understand the new situation and tasks of higher education.The foreign language education community should accelerate efforts in the following five aspects to cultivate high-quality foreign language talents:(1)making comprehensive plans for the cultivation of high-quality foreign language talents;(2)promoting the high-quality development of moral education in foreign language disciplines;(3)exploring the construction of an independent knowledge system for foreign language education;(4)accelerating efforts to nurture practical and top-tier foreign language talents;(5)accelerating the digital transformation of foreign language education.
