A Study of Language Skills of Top Leaders in IOs:Perspective of China
The top leaders in international organizations(IOs)are executive heads with super power and top positions in IOs,and they have more opportunities to air their views and serve more people in the world.However,China,as an emerging big country,should have supplied more top leader candidates for IOs,and via top leaders in IOs there should have been more voices and views from China to be heard or seen in the world.One of the key factors that cause the above-mentioned phenomenon is that Chinese candidates of top leaders in IOs have limited English skills.Thus,this paper is to find out the features or laws of language skill development by examining the language educational and working backgrounds according the CVs of 30 top leaders in IOs from China.Finally,the paper puts forward 6 language-based cultivation models for such candidates in China.
