Research on the Mechanism of External Involvement Driving the Digital Transformation of Manufacturing Enterprises
The study aims to explore the mechanism of supplier involvement and customer involvement on the digital transformation performance of enterprises.Based on the data of 206 manufacturing enterprises, the theoretical model was empirically tested that supplier involvement and customer involvement affect the digital capability and even the digital performance of enterprises. The study shows that both supplier involvement and customer involvement have positive effects on the digital performance of enterprises, with customer involvement having a greater positive effect than supplier involvement and that both supplier and customer involvement have significant positive effects on the digital capabilities of enterprises, with supplier involvement having a greater effect than customer involvement.Enterprises'digital capabilities have a positive effect on enterprises'digital performance. The study finds that enterprises'digital capabilities play a complete mediating role between supplier involvement and enterprises'digital performance and a partial mediating role between customer involvement and enterprises'digital performance. The findings of the study have important practical implications for manufacturing companies to effectively utilize supplier and customer knowledge to successfully implement digital transformation.
