摘要
海明威的短篇小说《乞力马扎罗的雪》以主人公哈利与妻子海伦的出游为主线,记叙了哈利跌宕起伏的一生以及此次出行中所发生的一系列冲突与矛盾.其中,主人公哈利无时无刻不在进行着有关"存在"的自我选择,他在自我欺骗中浑噩度日,在对自由的渴望中踽踽独行.面对疾病与死亡,幡然醒悟的他所展现出的"向死而生"的人生态度更为其悲剧命运增添了 一抹存在主义色彩.以存在主义视角分析主人公由自我选择所形成的"自欺""自由"与"向死而生"三个心理特征,并挖掘其在生死存亡时所显露出的存在主义精神.
Abstract
Hemingway's short story,The Snows of Kilimanjaro,takes Harry's trip with his wife Helen as the main line,recounting Harry's ups and downs in his life and a series of conflicts and contradictions during this trip.Harry,the protagonist,is constantly engaged in the self-selection of"existence",he lives in self-deception,and walks alone in the desire for freedom.In the face of illness and death,the attitude of"living to death"that he showed after he got disillusioned added a touch of existentialism to his tragic fate.From the perspective of existentialism,the author analy-zes the three psychological characteristics of"self-deception""freedom"and"life to death",which are formed by the protagonist's self-selection,and explores the existentialism spirit revealed in his life and death.
