Under the strategic background of"culture going global",the translation of folk culture and popularization of foreign language versions are of vital importance.This paper categorizes representative folk vocabulary from White Deer Plain into social life systems,material life systems,and spiritual life systems,and summarizes the cultural characteristics of folk vocabulary."Cultural Functional Equivalence"proposed by Bassnett has strong explanatory power and guiding significance in addressing issues such as cultural default,contextual vacancy,and cultural blank.Translation strategies of folk vocabulary are reflected in two dimensions:moving closer to the target language culture while maintaining readability to"seek common ground";respecting the source language culture while preserving authenticity to"preserve differences".This research not only refines the translation methods of folk vocabulary but also has positive significance in promoting the spread of Guanzhong regional folk culture in English-speaking countries.
