The relationship between urban and rural areas is an important theme in China's economic and social development.Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up,China's urban-rural relationship has undergone significant changes.It is essential to adhere to the urban-rural integration development,facilitate the flow of urban-rural elements,and promote the sharing of urban-rural space,which has become a strategic direction for the development of China's urban-rural relationship.Based on data of digital economy and urban-rural integration from 30 provinces in China from 2013 to 2022,this study empirically analyzes the impact of China s digital economy development on urban-rural integration by constructing a fixed effects model.The findings indicate that the level of digital economy development has a positive promoting effect on the urban-rural integration development;social services have a mediating effect between digital economy development and urban-rural integration;and the impact of digital economy development on urban-rural integration exhibits regional heterogeneity.In light of the above,this study provides corresponding enlightenment from aspects such as vigorously developing the digital economy and formulating development policies in accordance with regional characteristics.
