Interactional metadiscourse is a set of important resources to realize the interaction between authors and readers and to construct authorial identities in academic discourse. However, most of the current studies focus on self-mentions,such as first-person pronouns,to discuss the authorial identity construction, ignoring a systematic investigation of specific types of au-thorial identities constructed by other interactional metadiscourse resources and their subcategories. In view of this, this study aims to establish a comprehensive analytical framework of interactional metadiscoursal construction of authorial identity.First-ly,this study further reviews and expands the classification of interactional metadiscourse of Hyland(2005a)from a functional perspective, which makes a step forward in the delicacy.Secondly, this study explores the relationship between interactional metadiscourse and authorial identity construction from the pragmatic perspective based on the existing authorial identity frame-works.Therefore,the framework constructed in this study has the characteristics of systematicness and easy-quantification,which provides a useful reference for researches on the interactional metadiscoursal construction of authorial identity.
