Fei Xiaotong is a leading figure in anthropology,sociology and ethnology,and his works have made indelible contri-butions to the development of this field.However,his translation contributions in social science are little known.In fact,Fei Xiaotong's interest in translation runs through his life,and he has continued to develop with his own academic research,form-ing a unique translation idea.Starting from Fei Xiaotong's translation achievements,this paper expounds his translation thought of"Blending the east and the west,seeking truth and perfection",in the context of the global outreach of Chinese cul-ture,we will explore the guidance and reference role of Fei Xiaotong's translation ideas for the translation and introduction of ethnic classics from the aspects of cultural consciousness,paying attention to"audience awareness",its cultural communica-tion effects and thick translation patterns,which is of practical significance.
