This paper firstly points out what's transposition and how it works.Transposition is a process that presents how a meaning comes to be and what it could soon become.Transposition is an activity in which we put one form of meaning or sever-al together to reconstruct them simultaneously.Then this paper renders three working features of transposition,namely the hor-izontal movements across and between forms of meaning,the vertical shift of attention across and between functions of meaning and visualization.And elucidation of their working is also presented.Finally the conclusion is given as follows:based on per-spective of multimodality,the working of transposition is mainly to demonstrate the dynamics of development of things con-cerned,to re-demonstrate the process of their changes and to highlight different changes between things and the variables;and participation is a must in dynamic production of meanings.
