The Belt and Road initiatives is a major policy decision made by China to take the initiative to tackle the global situa-tion and to co-ordinate the overall domestic and international situation.The high-quality Belt and Road development cannot be separated from the high-level foreign language talents.Being the frontier of the Belt and Road development,the northwestern part of China should seize the opportunity and respond actively.Aiming at the current situation of the demand for foreign language tal-ents,considering the reality of regional social development,the northwestern region should plan the major setting systematically,offer curriculums scientifically,strengthen the teachers team construction,explore diversified cultivation and improve the quality of foreign language talents to provide better service for the Belt and Road development.
