National consciousness,rich in connotations,is not only the crucial foundation and embodiment of a country's uni-ty and cohesiveness but also the intrinsic force to drive the national development.Based on questionnaire surveys,this study finds out the status quo of the national consciousness among foreign language teachers in universities in Shaanxi province.Ad-ditionally,it explores the strategies for constructing national consciousness.The study reveals that a strong sense of national consciousness and a high willingness to engage in political ideology learning are observed among foreign language teachers.However,there is still room for improvement in their execution regarding safeguarding national interests.National conscious-ness integrates with national strategy and disciplinary development into a unitary concept,which highlights the role of universi-ties as the main front to cultivate citizens'national consciousness.The national consciousness of foreign language teachers plays a pivotal part in the integration of ideological and political education.This research provides innovative insights and mod-els for how to integrate national consciousness cultivation among foreign language teachers with ideological education within the curriculum.
