Taking the"5W"communication model as its theoretical framework,this research attempts to present an overview of the research accomplishments during the last ten years from three perspectives:"Who"and"With What Effect","Says What"and"With What Effect","In Which Channel"and"With What Effect",after making analysis on the related journal articles on"International Communication of China's Intangible Cultural Heritage"in CNKI database from 2013 to 2022.It is found that:1)the coastal provinces of China pay much more attention to the international communication of their intangible cultural heritage;2)previous studies seldom center on the sub-categories of the communication content,and the projects with-in the same category are highly simplified;and 3)the communication channels tend to be more diversified and market-orien-ted.In order to promote China's intangible cultural heritage's international communication,it is suggested that more empha-sis should be put on the study of particular intangible cultural heritage categories and specific intangible cultural heritage,the interdisciplinary study should be conducted by employing the latest research outcomes in such frontiers as artificial intelligence and big data,and the study on the development of a pluralistic pattern of"polyphonic communication"from the perspective of folkloric identity should be strengthened.
