This narrative case study explores the developmental paths of six young university foreign language teachers'inter-disciplinary research competency. The analysis of interviews and case documents indicates that the teachers exhibit three de-velopmental paths, namely agency-driven,context-driven,and agency-context co-driven,resulting from the interaction be-tween teacher agency and contextual support. The differences and commonalities of the three paths provide implications for the development of young teachers'interdisciplinary research competency.
