Guided by the concept of new liberal arts construction and based on the definition and training goals of compound foreign language talents proposed in The Teaching Guide for Undergraduate Business English Majors in Universities,this study conducts a corpus analysis on 200 undergraduate graduation theses for Business English majors.It is found that the selected business English undergraduate graduation thesis is in line with the knowledge training objectives of the major,and the corpus test results reflect the requirements of academic and business English vocabulary.Based on the research results,this paper puts forward three suggestions:1)Business English major should take the demand of new liberal arts as the driving force,and implement its composite orientation;2)instructors should guide students to conduct more empirical research and improve their utilization of foreign language databases;and 3)the university should encourage the students to choose the pluralistic topics for their graduation thesis and inspire them to do the innovative research.
