The proposal of new quality productive forces provides new ideas for the planning of foreign language education in China and the cultivation of innovative foreign language talents.This study takes the foreign language talent cultivation in uni-versities of Chongqing as an example and conducts extensive surveys on the language variety,training level,training mode,curriculum setting,etc.It is found that there are still imbalances in language variety planning,insufficient reserves of excel-lent and urgently-needed talents,single training modes,no-prominent training features,insufficient cross-disciplinary integra-tion,and weak innovative vitality of talents in Chongqing universities.Combining the connotation and characteristics of the new quality productive forces,this paper proposes a series of practical paths for cultivating innovative foreign language talents from three dimensions of underpainting,characteristics,and bright colors,aiming to provide reference for the high-quality develop-ment of foreign language education in universities.
