敦煌爱情歌谣西方汉学家英译的描写研究

敦煌歌谣是唐五代时期民间广为流传的文学体制,其中以爱情为主题的敦煌歌谣在许愿祈福、婚丧嫁娶、招魂祭祀等活动仪式中具有唱诵表演的民俗功能.20世纪早期,汉学家亚瑟·韦利率先开始敦煌歌谣的英译活动,对中国俗文学在西方世界的传播具有开拓意义,而对于韦利英译的敦煌爱情歌谣,一直未引起学界的关注.有鉴于此,有必要对韦利所译的《喜秋天》《孟姜女变文》《董永变文》等以传统中国爱情故事为主题的歌谣进行探究,通过分析这些英译歌谣的诗性和叙事性特点,概括其英译策略规律,以期为文化歌谣的跨语言译介和传播提供参照.
During the Tang and Five Dynasties,Dunhuang ballads gained popularity through widespread singing.Among these ballads,love ballads were served in folk activities,including praying rituals,wedding ceremonies and funeral rites.In the 20th century,the sinologist Arthur Waley was the first to translate Dunhuang ballads into English.However,despite his pioneering efforts,his translations of Dunhuang love ballads have largely been overlooked in the academic sphere.Therefore,there is sig-nificant value in examining Waley's translations of Rejoicing in the Autumn Sky,Meng Chiang-nü and The Ballad of Tung Yung,which recount classical Chinese folktales of love.By analyzing the poetic qualities and narrative techniques employed in these ballads,the consistency of his translation strategies can be found out.This analysis may serve as a valuable reference for translating and transmitting cultural ballads across language boundaries.
