Percy Bysshe Shelley translated Plato's works and developed his own unique style,leaving a lasting impact on the study of British classical literature.Shelley's translation was deeply influenced by his own poetics,which was in turn shaped by Neoplatonism and Skepticism.This resulted in Shelley's subjective reinterpretation of Plato's works.Shelley's translation infused Plato's abstract theory of ideas with subjective imagination and personal experiences.At the same time,through close reading and translation of Plato's works,Shelley expanded new interpretive and expressing space in his poetics and poetry cre-ation.Moreover,Plato's philosophical concepts and ethical ideas are replicated and reinterpreted within Shelley's poetics,while Plato's words,metaphors,and rhythms are imitated and reshaped in Shelley's poetry.
