Based on relative entropy, this study explores the co-selection characteristics of English light verb constructions(LVCs)from a multifactor analysis.Specifically, this research employs both logistic regression and conditional inference trees to identify significant factors influencing the selection of LVC and constructs a predictive structure for LVCs with a tree-like model. The findings indicate that the co-selection of LVC is influenced by multiple factors, with register, definiteness of noun in LVC and specificity of noun in LVC being the primary influencers.By examining the significant factors on LVC co-selec-tion,this study contributes to a better understanding of the complexity and diversity of language use, offering valuable insights for language feature research from a multifactor perspective.
