Lu Xun is widely known for his"hard translation"approach,yet he advocates for conveying style and ensuring readability when translating children's literature.Lu Xun's unique strategy in translating children's literature merits deep ex-amination.This study finds that Lu Xun's translation of children's literature is deeply rooted in his aspiration of"awakening the masses",leading him to adopt translation strategies distinct from those used for adult literature.Specifically,in selecting source texts,Lu Xun favors works with natural imagery,tragic plots,and a fighting spirit.Regarding translation methods,he particularly prioritizes faithfully reproducing the style of the source text.Lu Xun's thoughts on translating children's literature not only offer a fresh perspective on his overall translation philosophy but also provide valuable insights for contemporary chil-dren's literature translation practices.
