In order to improve the coverage effect of wireless sensor networks(WSNs)after random deployment, and reduce the moving energy consumption of sensor nodes in the secondary deploy-ment process,a coverage enhancement strategy for WSNs is proposed, which is suitable for the heterogeneous sensing radius.By taking the population size as the deployment schemes and the population position as the position variables of nodes, this strategy establishes the mapping rela-tionship between the army ant search optimizer and the coverage problem of WSNs.Then the ini-tialization behavior is improved according to the initial deployment position of sensor nodes, the at-tack behavior is improved by introducing the virtual force guidance, and the ant bridge behavior is improved according to the nest position,so that the moving energy consumption of sensor nodes is optimized on the basis of improving the coverage effect of WSNs.Simulation results show that when compared with the virtual force algorithm(VFA),the coverage optimization algorithm based on sampling for heterogeneous WSNs(COSHWSNs)and the army ant search optimizer(AASO),the proposed algorithm has a higher coverage rate, and the total moving distance of the sensor nodes in the secondary deployment process is the smallest. In addition, the proposed algorithm also has strong robustness in coverage effect and mobile energy consumption when the coverage area and the scale of nodes changes.
