Mechanism of Generating Circulating Current in Grid-forming Renewable Energy Power Plant
To analyze the mechanism of generating circulating current in a grid-forming renewable energy power plant,this study adopts the modeling scenario of two parallel-connected grid-forming renewable energy power plants with low-frequency AC power output to a diode rectifier unit.Firstly,the circulating current expression is analyzed to identify the electrical parameters that affect the circulating current,which is divided into large signal circulating current and small signal circulating current.The large signal circulating current includes three scenarios:voltage amplitude imbalance,phase imbalance,and output impedance imbalance.The small signal circulating current includes three scenarios:carrier phase imbalance,dead zone imbalance,and three-phase filtering inductance imbalance.Then mathematical analysis is conducted for the circulating current under these six scenarios to obtain their characteristics.Finally,Matlab/Simulink simulation experiments verify the circulating current characteristics in theoretical analysis under these six scenarios.
