Synthesis of 2,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indole microcapsules and their fluorescent properties on textiles
In order to synthesize fluorescent coatings that can be used for textiles,2,3,3-trimeth-yl-3H indole was synthesized in high yield by multi-step separation and purification of phenyl-hydrazine and methyl isopropyl ketone under nitrogen atmosphere. With the indole as core mate-rial and polymethyl methacrylate mixed with 1,4-butanediol diacrylate as oil phase, the oil phase was fully dispersed and emulsified with sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate as aqueous phase by in situ polymerization method. The fluorescent microcapsules with fast color response were success-fully prepared by microencapsulation technology, which improved the stability of 2,3,3-trimeth-yl-3H indole fluorescence performance.Aqueous polyurethane was used as a binder to apply fluo-rescent microcapsules to cotton and polyester fabrics, which enhanced the interaction between fluorescent microcapsules and fabrics.Cotton and polyester compounded with fluorescent micro-capsules could emit green fluorescence and change from yellowish to mint green under UV light. This work improves the stability of fluorescent dyes and provides an effective reference value for the preparation of fluorescent microcapsules as well as their wide application.
