Effects of LED interlighting on yield and photosynthesis of tomato in solar greenhouse
[Objective] This study investigated the effects of different LED interlighting on tomato yield, photosynthesis and dry matter production in solar greenhouse.[Method] Tomato cultivar "Ruifen 882" was planted in a solar greenhouse and three red/blue light ratios (R/B=4 ∶ 1,R/B=7 ∶ 1 and R/B=9 ∶ 1) and no LED interlighting (CK) were applied.[Result] Compared with CK,interlighting treatments significantly increased tomato yield with the increases of 25.9%,28.5% and 22.7% for R/B=4 ∶ 1,R/B=7 ∶ 1 and R/B=9 ∶ 1,respectively.The total aboveground dry matter amounts were increased by 26.2%,30.4% and 28.4% and the fruit dry weights were increased by 31%,38.6% and 36% in the R/B=4 ∶ 1,R/B=7 ∶ 1 and R/B=9 ∶ 1 treatments, respectively.LED interlighting insignificantly increased dry mass to fruit ratio compared with CK.Interlighting treatments also increased the maximum net photosynthetic rate and light absorption at the wavelength of 500-650 nm for the leaves close to the light source.[Conclusion] Interlighting treatments significantly increased tomato production, canopy light distribution and photosynthetic capacity without significant difference among treatments.
