Preparation and Performance Study of PP/SEBS/HDPE Composite Materials
The PP/SEBS/HDPE ternary blend was prepared by melt blending hydrogenated polystyrene butadiene polystyrene(SEBS)with polypropylene(PP)and polyethylene(PE)using a twin-screw extruder. The flow properties, mechanical properties, thermal properties, crystallization behavior, and compatibility of the blend were studied and analyzed using impact testing machines, thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),infrared spectroscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The results showed that in the PP/PE system, with the increase of PE,the flowability of the blend gradually improved. When the PE content was 20%,the tensile strength, impact strength, and elongation at break of the blend reached the highest,at which point its mechanical properties were optimal; In the ternary blend system, with the increase of SEBS content, the cantilever impact strength of the blend is significantly improved. When the amount of SEBS added is 8%,the mechanical properties of the blend are optimal. Therefore, the optimal system is PP/20%HDPE/8%SEBS,at which point the compatibility of the blend is the best.
