As a hand-made art with a long history in the traditional culture of the Yao people,Yao embroidery not only carries the life wisdom and skills of the Yao people,but also embodies the cultural concept and aesthetic value of the Yao people.Based on the purpose of studying the categories,cultural connotation and inheritance of the Yao embroidery patterns in the south of Jiangxi Province,this paper obtains the information of Yao embroidery patterns from the Yao villages in the south of Jiangxi Province through literature analysis and investigation.According to the research,the embroidery patterns of Shanyao in south China are mainly divided into octagonal pattern,dog pattern,lotus pattern,human pattern and swastika pattern.Each pattern has different meanings and symbols,which are mostly related to primitive worship and historical background.In the process of inheritance,there are problems such as lack of inheritors and serious homogenization,so it is urgent to use policy support and cultural and tourism integration measures to promote the long-term development of the embroidery industry in South Quanshan.
