Small Property Rights Housing and Settlement Intention of the Floating Population
The floating population and their families live and work in the urban areas is an important part of popula-tion urbanization,and it is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore the determinants affecting their set-tlement intentions in the cities.Based on a representative national micro-survey data,this paper analyzes the effect of small property rights housing on the floating population's settlement intention.The study found that small property rights housing,through the locking effect of factual housing property rights and the incentive effect of low entry thresh-old,improved the settlement intention of the floating population,and played a more obvious role in the'junior middle school','low income','old generation'and the floating population groups in the central and western regions with weak legal awareness and high demand for cheap housing.These results complement the micro-explanation mechanism for the generation and development of small property rights housing,and provide important policy implication for re-solving and managing the negative externalities of small property rights housing and solving the problem of the floating population and their families settling down into the cities.
