Pension'Influences to Returned Migrants'Re-out-migrating for Employment in China
Participation in pension systems would affect those returned peasants to re-out-migrant in their later life for seeking employment.This article theoretically analyzes the mechanism,and carries out an empirical test by using the data of China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS)in 2011 and 2013.The findings include:(1)Those returned migrants will reduce the probability of re-out-migrating for employment if they had pension schemes.(2)Different pension systems have different influences on returned peasants're-out-migrating.Employee pension scheme are more significantly reducing the probability of re-out-migration than the rural residential pension scheme.(3)The pension's effect of reducing re-out-grating has spillover effects,that it increases their rural adult children's out-migrate probability for living in cities or counties.This paper calls for strengthening rural pension systems develop-ment and increasing migrants covered with employee insurance in China.Pension plays an important role in improving the well-being of migrant workers,reducing the urban and rural inequality,promoting rural revitalization,and also has a positive influence on advancing China's labor market development.
