The Characteristics of Population Structure and Influencing Factors of Its Spatial Distribution in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle:An Analysis Based on the Sixth and Seventh National Census Data
The evolution of population structure is profoundly affecting the development mode of social economy. It is of great importance to clarify the spatial distribution characteristics of population structure evolution and its main influ-encing factors to promote regional coordinated and sustainable development of high quality.Based on the data from the 6th and 7th national population censuses, this article explores the population structure characteristics of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle during 2010~2020,and uses the random effects regression model to integrate external en-vironmental factors and internal structural factors that affect population spatial distribution into the"internal and exter-nal interaction"framework for analysis and optimization of policy recommendations. The results show that:(1)Popula-tion structure is a comprehensive concept that involves attributes such as population age, gender, education level,ur-ban-rural structure, and number. The aging phenomenon of the population in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Cir-cle is serious, and it is banded around the"double core"area. The Sex ratio of men and women in Chongqing is general-ly higher than that in Sichuan, which is mainly related to the regional industrial structure. The population, education level and urbanization rate have increased significantly, and the"core periphery"characteristics are obvious around the"double core"area in space.(2)The population has the productive nature of self-development and the mobility of spatial distribution, characterized by natural growth originating from internal structural changes and mechanical growth originating from external environmental influences. It is a common result of the interaction between localization and re-gionalization,including external factors such as the level of regional economic and social development,as well as inter-nal factors in population structure that cause changes in regional population flow. The research results indicate that ex-ternal environmental factors have a more significant impact on population mobility and mechanical growth, while the decrease in population self-productivity negatively affects the spatial distribution of the population.(3)The character-istics presented by the evolution of different population attribute structures correspond to different urban socio-econom-ic development issues. The rationality of population structure is judged by the sustainable development of the future population in the region and the degree of matching with the urban development stage. In the future,we should adhere to the concept of people-oriented development, pay attention to the coordinated development of population and re-gions,and promote the sustainable and high-quality development of population and the reasonable distribution of popu-lation structure space in Chengdu-Chongqing Economic circle by optimizing the industrial layout, improving the basic public services and promoting the flow of factors.
