Study on the Correction of Insulation Level for Voltage Switching Equipment in High Altitude Pumped Storage Power Generation Motor
To address the mismatch between the rated voltage of generator-motors and the rated voltage of switching equipment in existing specifications, particularly in high-altitude areas where this mismatch can significantly reduce the usable altitude range of the equipment, this paper proposes a reasonable method for correcting the insulation level of generator motor voltage circuit switching equipment at high altitudes.Starting from the perspective of supplementing the rated voltage sequence and insulation coordination, the insulation level stand-ards are determined based on the maximum operational voltage of the generator-motor voltage circuit.Using generator circuit breakers and isolation switches as examples, the paper supplements the insulation level standard values for the rated voltage sequence of 21 kV.The results indicate that the voltage fluctuation range of different projects should be considered when selecting the maximum voltage for equip-ment;the actual overvoltage level of the generator-motor voltage circuit is relatively low, providing a larger insulation margin for the e-quipment.When conducting high-altitude corrections for the generator-motor voltage circuit equipment, the rated insulation level should first be calculated based on the actual maximum operational voltage of the circuit,as direct correction according to the sequence in the specifications may cause difficulties in equipment selection. When the actual maximum operational voltage of the circuit is not present in the standard voltage sequence of the specifications,it is feasible to calculate the corresponding insulation level using interpolation meth-ods.This conclusion greatly expands the applicable altitude range of the related equipment, avoiding the issue of voltage stepping during equipment procurement and selection, thereby saving costs for the project.
