The ecological effects of the project of conversion of cropland to forest of Gansu Province was assessed with the distributed measurement method . The results show that the total ecological effects value of the project of conversion of cropland to forest of Gansu Province is 84.894 billion yuan annually . The total ecological effects value of the project of conversion of cropland to forest of Gansu Province in 2013 is far more than the total investment from 1999 to 2015 . The order of the ecological effects value of 6 ecological services from large to small is water conservation , soil conservation , carbon fixation and oxygen released , biodiversity protection , atmosphere environmental purification , nutrient accumulation . The order of the ecological effects value of different cities of prefectures is Pingliang , Qingyang , Longnan , Tianshui , Dingxi , Baiyin , Linxia , Zhangye , Lanzhou , Jiuquan , Wuwei , Gannan , Jinchang and Jiayuguan . Evaluation results truly reflect achievement of the project of conversion of cropland to forest of Gansu Province , w hich show that the project of conversion of cropland to forest of Gansu Province has obtained the good ecological effects .
