Research status of soil protist based on bibliometric analysis
To comprehend the current global research status and hotspots of soil protist,a bibliometric analysis of literature published in the field between 2000 and 2023 was conducted using the core citation database of Web of Science(SCIE).The analysis focused on the bibliometric aspects of the literature, and the study analyzes research papers using VOSviewer software. The Web of Science core database was used to select the papers, which were then visualized and analyses in terms of countries, academic institutions, authors, journals, and keywords. The data indicates a steady increase in publications on soil protist worldwide, with the United States leading in total publications since 2000,followed by China.Among the top publishers in the world are the University of Neuchatel(Switzerland),the University of Cologne(Germany),and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The primary journals in the field are the Eur J Protistol,J Eukaryot Microbiol, and Soil Biol Biochem. The research content primarily focuses on taxonomic, ecological, and applied research.Although research on soil protist in China has made rapid progress, there is still a big gap in taxonomic and ecological research compared to other countries. To promote this field of study, cooperation and exchanges between countries and institutions should be strengthened. The trend of multidisciplinary cross-fertilization in soil protist-related research helps to clarify their specific roles in complex and changing soil environments. To promote the healthy development of this field,it is necessary to strengthen cooperation and exchange with other countries and organizations.
