Research on the Response Characteristics of CSU Acous-tic Velocity Logging in Coal Seam Expansion Section
Sound velocity logging is widely used in the exploration of coalfields, oil and gas fields, engineering geology, and other fields. In actual logging work, the measurement results may devi-ate significantly from the true values due to various factors. This article uses COMSOL Multiphysics software to numerically simu-late the response characteristics of CSU acoustic logging, designs a two-dimensional axisymmetric vertical well logging model, and verifies the influence of factors such as different coal seam enlarge-ment scales and coal seam thickness changes on the CSU acoustic time difference curve. The results indicate that the acoustic time difference curve of CSU sonic logging is not affected by the bound-ary of the coal seam expansion section. The formation where the two receiving transducers are located is the detection target, and the detection result is the weighted value of the target body. The de-tection of thin coal layers requires a thick core, which provides an important explanatory basis for sonic logging.
