Reflection on the Contemporary Values of Cultural Confidence in the Course of Modern Chinese National Rejuvenation
In the course of modern national rejuvenation,the Chinese nation tried to achieve rejuvenation from the aspects of artifacts,institutions and culture through the Westernization Movement,the Hundred Days Reform,the Revolution of 1911,and the New Culture Movement,most of which,however,inevitably ended in failure.The twists and turns of the modern national rejuvenation reflect the regular rises and falls of the Chinese nation's attitude toward its own culture:from cultural conceit to cultural narcissism and then from cultural self-doubt to cultural inferiority.As the modernistic concentrated embodiment of the Chinese nation's cultural attitude,cultural confidence scientifically answers the cultural three fundamental questions in the process of the modern Chinese nation's rejuvenation,and escorts the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with its scientific attitude,correct direction,and deep foundation.
