Nietzsche's Subversion of Metaphysics and His Attempt to Overcome Nihilism—Interpretation Based on Heidegger's Nietzsche's Words:God is Dead
Nietzsche's proclamation of"The Death of God"subverted the traditional metaphysics that had long exalted the highest values, dividing the world into the transcendent and the sensible. This dichotomy, which served as the cornerstone of traditional metaphysics, was thus overturned, rendering the philosophers'certainty about the transcendent world a mere castle in the air.Nietzsche called for a"revaluation of all values",leading us to pursue more vital principles—the Will to Power—to replace the collapsing old value system. The perspective that once looked down on the internal sensible world from an external transcendent world has now been internalized, drawn by the value force from the viewpoint of life itself.Nietzsche overcame the Platonic bifurcation of the world but retained a metaphysical position for"God",thus his reaction against metaphysics remained an incomplete form of nihilism.
