Molecular Identification and Analysis of Giardia duodenalis in Captive Raccoon Dogs in Different Areas of Hebei Province
To understand the infection situation and genotype distribution of Giardia duodenalis in captive raccoon dogs in Hebei province,389 fresh fecal samples of raccoon dogs were collected from different regions in Hebei province. All samples were detected by the nested PCR based on SSU rRNA gene of G.duodenalis.Then,the TPI and GDH genes of G.duodenalis-positive samples were amplified and sequenced for analysis. The results showed that the infection rate of G.duodenalis in captive raccoon dogs in Hebei province was 3.3%(13/389),and there was no significant difference in the infection rate of G.duodenalis in raccoon dogs in different regions(P>0.05).Meanwhile,the infection rate of G.duodena-lis in raccoon dogs of different ages or with different fecal types showed no significant difference(P>0.05).Sequence analysis showed that all the G.duodenalis genotypes obtained in this study were zoonotic assemblage B.The results in the present study have expanded our understanding of the infection host range infected by G.duodenalis assemblage B.
