新一代人工智能正以史无前例的速度改变着世界,并用不同于人类数千年习惯的方式在重新定义知识,特别是有关人类"软件"系统运作的知识.本文聚焦数智时代的人文研究,首先讨论人文学科的内涵与本质,通过探讨人文学科与数字技术的关系,旨在进一步厘清数字人文的根本任务.以作者团队研究成果为主线,展示了数字人文视角下的人文研究实践,并深入探讨数智时代下人文研究所面临的挑战与机遇.如果人文的根本任务也在于发现"模式",那么数字人文可能就不仅仅是把一本书或一幅画数字化到计算机里,而须从"细读"向"远观"迈进.文科工作者要抓住时代机遇,通过"数据+可视化"的透镜发现人文规律,为人工智能及现代化建设贡献人文学者的智慧.
Abstract
The new generation of artificial intelligence is changing the world at an unprecedented rate and is redefining knowledge in a manner different from the way humans have been accustomed to for thousands of years,especially when it comes to how the"software"of human operates.Focusing on humanities research in the age of data-based intelligence,this article first discusses the connotation and nature of humanities and aims to clarify the fundamental task of digital humanities by exploring the relationship between humanities and digital technology.Humanities research practice unfolds as the research of the authors'team is shown.Challenges and opportunities of humanities research in the age of data-based intelligence are then discussed.If the fundamental task of humanities is to discover"patterns",in this case,digital humanities may not only mean digitizing a book or a picture,but also shifting our view from"close reading"to"distant reading".Researchers should seize the opportunities and discover humanities patterns through the lens called"data+visualization"to contribute to the development of artificial intelligence and modernization.
