Exploration and Practice of"English+"Curriculum Integration under the Background of New Liberal Arts—Taking English and American Literature Teaching as an Example
With the development of new technologies such as information technology and artificial intelligence,traditional philosophy and social sciences can no longer meet the needs of today's society for knowledge and ideas.The goal of the creation of new humanities is to integrate old humanities,including English and Chinese,with newly developed technology and investigate research methodologies and ac-complishments that are more suited to the demands and features of the modern day.This not only raises the general standard of philosophy and social sciences in China,but also offers substantial backing for the advancement of the nation's politics,economy,culture and other facets.This paper employs a mixed research methodology,surveys,teaching observations,interviews and questionnaires to gather data on the integration and innovation of"English+"courses from the perspective of the"New Liberal Arts".The data is then analyzed both quan-titatively and qualitatively.According to the study's findings,"English+"courses that are innovative and integrated can help students de-velop their interdisciplinary skills,raise their overall quality standards,increase their motivation and interest in learning,and improve their academic performance.Thus,encouraging the creative and original integration of the"English+"curriculum within the framework of the new liberal arts is a successful educational reform strategy that fosters the development of exceptional talent with a global perspective and an inventive spirit.
