Comparative Study of Translation Theories between China and the West
Western(and indeed human)civilization owes its origins primarily to translators in a sense.The study of translation re-quires a serious comparison between Western and Chinese translation theories.Through comparison,readers can gain a better understand-ing of the development of translation theories in both the Western and Chinese contexts,as well as their positions in the entire history of human translation.By horizontally comparing different translation theoretical systems,the author can identify the similarities and unique-ness between the two,as well as their abstract theories and practical applications.Specifically,comparison allows readers to understand the similarities in principles,methods,standards and rules of Western and Chinese translation theories.Through comparison,translation theorists can draw inspiration from each other and further promote the development of translation studies.
