摘要
《西游记》是中国古典四大名著之一.在众多英译文本中,余国藩译本因其鲜明的学术性特点而别具一格.文章将以尤金·奈达的功能对等理论为支撑,从词汇、句法和篇章三个层面探讨其翻译方法的运用,并探讨功能对等理论在余国藩《西游记》英译本的应用.
Abstract
Journey to the West is one of the four great classical works of China.Among many English translations,Yu Guofan's trans-lation is unique because of its distinctive academic characteristics.With the support of Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory,this paper discusses the application of its translation method from lexical level,syntactic level and textual level,and the application of the func-tional equivalence theory in the English translation of Yu Guofan's Journey to the West.
