A Research on Emotional Engagement of Undergraduate English Learning in Higher Education Institutions
This study analyzes the emotional engagement in English learning of 550 non-English major undergraduates from different types of higher education institutions in a certain province,based on questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews.The study found that:(1)the overall level of learners'emotional engagement is relatively low;(2)there is no significant difference in the four di-mensions of emotional engagement(interest and confidence in learning,learning satisfaction,teacher identification,and school belonging)among students from different types of higher education institutions,but there is a significant difference in the value of English learning.
