A Study on the Metadiscourse Function of EnglishAcademic Blog Commentary
Metadiscourse is the discourse about discourse,which promotes the communicative interaction between the commentator and the reader.Based on the Hyland's interpersonal model of metadiscourse,this paper analyzes the functions of metadiscourse in English academic blog commentary from the perspective of English academics.The results show that the use of metadiscourses in English academic blog comments is common.The rational use of interactive metadiscourses can help the commenters organize the discourse better and make the article more logical and persuasive.Interactional metadiscourse can help readers get better information and grasp the attitude of com-menters.This study aims to enhance people's understanding of metadiscourses in academic discourse and improve their awareness of metadiscourses.
