摘要
近义词辨析一直以来都是英语词汇学习的重难点,语料库的出现为英语教学提供了有力的工具.文章基于COCA语料库,以oppose,defy和protest三个动词为例,分别从词频、语域分布、搭配及语义韵四个角度对这一组近义动词进行对比分析.通过词频、语域分布、搭配和语义韵的分析,发现尽管这三个词都有"反抗"的含义,但它们在语用环境、情感色彩和语义倾向上有明显差异.文章旨在为英语学习提供一定的参考.
Abstract
Near-synonyms analysis has always been a major difficulty in English learning and the emergence of corpora provides a powerful tool for English teaching.Based on the COCA corpus,this paper takes three verbs"oppose""defy"and"protest"as an exam-ple,and analyzes from four perspectives:word frequency,domain distribution,collocation and semantic rhyme.Through the analysis of word frequency,register distribution,collocation,and semantic rhyme,it is found that although these three words all have the meaning of"resistance",they have significant differences in pragmatic environment,emotional color,and semantic tendency.This article aims to provide some insight for English learning.
