Exploration on the Genre-based Pedagogical Approach in EAP Writing
The cultivation of university students'reading and writing ability of research articles(RAs)has become a great pedagogi-cal interest at China's tertiary education.The study analyses the genre-based pedagogical approach in English for Academic Purposes(EAP)writing and applies it to teaching practice.Students are required to observe,identify,discuss and annotate typical move structure analysis along with the co-occurring linguistic features,such as lexical-grammatical features and syntactic patterns.The course feedback shows that the identification of generic features may develop learners'genre knowledge,improve their ability of reading discipline-specific RAs and research competence.
